A North Vietnamese tank breaking through the gate to Independence Palace, thus marking the fall of Saigon and the end of the Vietnam war. The complex would later be renamed “Reunification Palace” by the new Communist government to celebrate the joining of North and South Vietnam. April 30, 1975.
